Hope Garden Children’s Ballet Theatre (HGCBT) upholds the traditions and history of classical ballet while venturing into the world of contemporary ballet and movement—contributing to the education of the young people involved, stretching their minds and explorations into the understanding of movement art, anatomy, musicality, and theater. The HGCBT hopes to extend its solid foundation in the community, teaching and spreading the message of beauty, culture, and the deep roots of Classical Ballet. These young dancers seek to educate and inspire audiences throughout the Maryland and D.C. region, striving to perform in many venues beyond the semi-annual performances in Poolesville, including hospitals, senior homes, schools, and community settings.

HGCBT strives to put on performances that are an exciting, inspiring and magical experience, both for the dancers and for the audience. Fulfilling these goals becomes easier as our dancers become more confident and accomplished, and they take on more sophisticated roles. Providing a setting that mirrors the quality of the dancing requires funding from outside sources. The rental, purchase and creation of more elaborate costumes, sets and props, the fees for hiring required technical staff and guest performers, the rental of the theater, and the cost of promoting the performances are all elements necessary to creating performances that match the caliber of these talented dancers.

As is traditional with youth ballet, the dancers all pay a fee to participate in these productions. The fees HGCBT collects from its dancers are the lowest in the region, and our hope is to maintain that. This is where our patrons, and supporters of art in our region, can help.

Your support is needed to make HGCBT events a success

Your contribution to Hope Garden Children’s Ballet Theatre will provide young dancers with opportunities to perform in a setting designed to maximize their growth as dancers and lovers of art, nurturing their character, confidence, discipline, and self-esteem. Your tax-deductible donations will help facilitate the growth of a flourishing center of art and culture in our community: a source of beauty, commitment, effort, and wellbeing for our youth. Please see the multiple, tax- deductible options we offer below to support HGCBT. You can download a donation form with all of the below information plus instructions on how to submit a donation. If you have any questions regarding HGCBT or opportunities to support us please email us. Thank you for your support!

Help Secure a Grant

HGCBT is actively pursuing grants that support the arts and communities. If you are associated with an entity that might consider a grant application from HGCBT we ask that you provide us with contact information so that we can pursue that opportunity.

Be an Angel

A donation of any amount is always greatly appreciated. We list our angels, when they prefer to be recognized, in the program for the performance following the donation, and on a sign in the lobby during the performances.

HGCBT is a charitable organization as described in §501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Accordingly, donations to HGCBT are deductible as charitable contributions.

Present a Performance

For a donation of $1,000 your entity is recognized as the co-presenter of one production, along with HGCBT. Your entity’s name will be joined with HGCBT ahead of the title of the show on all literature and promotional materials including fliers, posters, banners, lobby signs. Your name or logo will be presented at the beginning of the professionally produced DVD of the performance, which is distributed for free to the families of all dancers, and is available for purchase by the public. The performance sponsor also receives a professionally designed full-color page in the program of that performance, receives six reserved seats for the performance and six invitations to the post-performance cast party.

HGCBT is a charitable organization as described in §501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Accordingly, donations to HGCBT are deductible as charitable contributions.

Artwork for Program Messages and Advertisements

We ask that all artwork for messages or advertisements that are to be included in a performance program book be submitted at least six weeks before the date of the performance. If you don't have the capability of creating your artwork we can design your submission based on your words and any instructions you have for a small fee. You can review a previous program book for ideas of the types of ads and messages that have been submitted in the past. Please download the artwork submission form for instructions and deadlines for the coming performance. Please contact Julie Dorman, our program designer, at jdorman2@verizon.net  with any questions.
